The Department of Meteorology forecasted rainy conditions expected to increase across the island from this evening due to the development of lower atmosphere disturbance formed near Sri Lanka.Accordingly, the department stated that showers or thundershowers may occur in most parts of the island after 1:00 pm.Furthermore, it noted that heavy rains of about 100 mm could occur at some places in Northern, North Central, Central, Eastern, North Western, and Uva provinces, and additionally, rains could occur in Northern and North Western provinces during morning hours as well.In addition, the Department stated that foggy conditions may prevail at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces during early morning.
